Ahhh! It's happy surprise to wake up to freshly fallen snow early in the morning when no one else is up yet and everything is so quiet. It's nice to watch the snow fall when I can be inside, cozy and warm, drinking a cup of tea by the fireplace.
Winter is time to go inward and work on creative projects inside. I've recently taken up knitting. Knitting, as it has turned out, is a very relaxing and fulfilling way for me to use my creative energy. It's a perfect winter activity. I love to create warm, beautiful things...like this adorable little hat in a beautiful burgundy color that I knitted for my daughter.
And now...to paint my bedroom!

Just finished painting my bedroom...
and I just love how it turned out!
I used a Laura Ashley color from Lowes called Ironwood. It complements my bathroom, which is painted in Laura Ashley's Spring Lilac, perfectly.
I love being surrounded by color and I love painting. It's such an inexpensive, fun way to add color quickly either to the whole room or by accenting a wall or one particular area. It can lend a dramatic or subtle look. In any event, it brings a new and fresh energy to a space. And the "work" of painting is pure bliss. The way the brush or roller glides over a surface and by it's interaction, changes it entirely. I love watching the color take over. And I love watching the room or canvas transform. When I'm following my inspiration and not contriving anything, happy surprises abound.
